New Principal for Drelincourt Church of Ireland Infants School, Armagh

 

Following the retirement of Ms Sylvia Brookes as Principal of the Drelincourt School, the School’s Governors are pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Eileen Trew as the new Principal.

Mrs Trew’s teaching qualifications were gained through a Bachelor of Education from Stranmillis University College, and a Masters in Education from Queen’s University, Belfast. Her teaching experience has included teaching posts in Northern Ireland and in Paraguay, with her most recent post in Gilford Primary School where she has taught for the last nine years.

Speaking ahead of the new school year, Mrs Trew said, “I am delighted to have been appointed principal of the Drelincourt School and I am very much looking forward to working with the dedicated staff team and governors. It is a privilege to build upon the outstanding leadership of Ms Brookes and it is my desire that this school will continue to put the nuture, education and development of each child at the heart of everything it does.”

The Most Revd Dr Richard Clarke, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Drelincourt School, said, “On behalf of the Governors, staff, parents and pupils, I extend a warm welcome to Mrs Trew and wish her well as Principal. Drelincourt is a special place, where children are encouraged, challenged and valued in a safe and happy environment. Such a positive start to their school life is greatly to the credit of all members of staff, and I take this opportunity to thank everyone who will help Mrs Trew to settle in to her new position and to wish all a productive year ahead for the Drelincourt School.”
