Searches in Parish Registers of Baptisms, Marriages & Burials
Fees:
Searches up to one hour                                  £12 /€20
For each additional hour or part of an hour    £12 /€20
Each additional certified copy of an entry      £6 / €10
Special circumstances:
Where a certificate is required for the purposes of National Insurance (Northern Ireland) or Social Insurance (Republic of Ireland).
Fees for searching registers (including the provision of one copy of an entry therein)

Policy
Every Incumbent or other member of the clergy officiating in the parish, who shall have the custody for the time being of any registers of baptisms, or of marriages, or of burials, shall at all reasonable times, on demand allow search in such registers and shall give a signed certified copy of any entry or any entries in the same, on payment of the fee herein mentioned.


Reprography
Certified copies of entries in parish registers can be issued by local clergy or by the certifying officers in the repositories.
Photocopying of parish records is forbidden on all occasions.
Photography from parish records may only be undertaken with the written permission of the owner of the copyright. 

 

Care of Registers
The Registers are precious and often fragile and become more so with frequent handling.  Great care should be taken when handling  them and they should be safely and securely stored.
