This weekend St John’s Parish Church, Newtownhamilton, welcomes
Rev Henry Blair representative of SOMA (Sharing Of Ministries Abroad) in Ireland.
Henry, who was previously Rector of Tullanisken and Clonoe, will be preaching at both harvest services – Friday 18th at 8.00pm, and Sunday 20th at 7.30pm, and he will also be
at the coffee morning in the church on Saturday 19th from 10.00am – 12.00 noon.
Proceeds of the coffee morning will be split between SOMA and our Church Hall Building Fund.

Henry is also available to speak with interested individuals by arrangement at other times over the weekend. The SOMA information leaflet describes the work and vision of the organisation –
‘Sharing Of Ministries Abroad is an international mission agency called by God to serve the Anglican Communion and the world-wide church through short-term, cross-cultural missions, ministering to clergy and lay leaders alike. We hope to work in the power of the Holy Spirit to bring transformation to individuals, churches, communities and lands, so that the Body of Christ might be empowered by the Holy Spirit to minister and preach the Kingdom of God.’ SOMA teams are made up of clergy and lay people and usually last two weeks including travel time. The team fundraise and receive donations from churches and individuals to cover the travel costs, while the host diocese shares the costs of the time in the country. More information is available on the website – somaie.org or by contacting Henry directly – henry@somaie.org.

Everyone is welcome at our harvest services and coffee morning.
