After almost two decades as Director, Earl Moffit, the Founder of The Lowry Singers,
will retire this weekend after directing for the last time at
'Carols by Candlelight' at St Patrick's Ballyclog, Co. Tyrone.
The Christmas concert will be the flagship event in Ballyclog's 150th Anniversary celebrations
including acclaimed soprano soloist Elizabeth Ross and organist Phillip Elliott.
Under the directorship of Earl Moffitt ,The Lowry Singers have performed at almost two hundred events, including live performances on BBC Radio Ulster, RTE TV and RTE Radio.
They have produced four CDs and raised £26,000 for charities including Cancer Focus NI,
and the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
Based at Ballyclog in recent years, the singers are named after Church of Ireland Rector Canon Chris Lowry, who served his entire ministry in the Diocese of Armagh, where Earl has also been a church organist and choirmaster for over 50 years in various parish churches including Loughgall, Kilmore, Richhill and Armagh .
'Carols by Candlelight' takes place at 4.00pm on Saturday 15th December at St Patrick's Church, Ballyclog.
